inside midst of a cop-killer culture, the idea’s tough to find celebrities willing to speak out for law enforcement. Sure, some will visit the memorials to the fallen, don an NYPD cap on stage or say, in public, they “respect the work of men in addition to also women in blue,” yet when the idea comes to taking a stand on the tough issues, like gun control, substance abuse, drunk driving, police brutality, etc., publicists seem to have issued a gag order.
During his Full Bluntal Nugity Tour, however, Ted Nugent–wild-eyed in addition to also bushy-tailed–took time out for an exclusive interview to address some of his controversial convictions. You may praise him, hate him, fear him or ignore him, yet based on the masses in which attend his concerts, in addition to also wildly applaud his high-decibel, pro-gun, pro-hunting philosophy, he’s fastly in addition to also vastly becoming a political force to be reckoned with.
Q. What’s your take on gun buy-back programs.
A. I think they suck. I think the only people who are inclined to turn them in are 1) law-abiding citizens, who have been fooled into believing in which being defenseless is usually somehow desirable; 2) thieves, in which have taken advantage of in which politically-correct, brain-dead policy to go in addition to also rip people off, in addition to also get a free, bypass jail card, for stealing additional people’s weapons… the idea has never been proven to reduce crime or the use of fire arms in crimes… One of the self-evident truths in which in which nation is usually based on, is usually in which God gave us the gift of life. If you take in which universal truism to heart, then you might have to be an evil monster to think in which a Great person should not contain the right to keep in addition to also bear arms to protect in which gift of life. When a Great person is usually unarmed, he is usually defenseless. in addition to also to be unarmed in addition to also defenseless is usually irresponsible in addition to also an absolute middle finger in God’s face saying ‘thank you for the life, yet the idea’s not worth protecting. in which is usually brain dead! To be unarmed is usually to be intentionally helpless, in addition to also in which is usually irresponsible. My heart, my soul, my intellect, in addition to also my spirit will not allow the idea.
Q. Isn’t the idea just instinctive for people to want to protect themselves?
A. Ya think?! The last time I checked–in addition to also in which is usually a statistic in which all the law enforcement community has got to stand by–all the dead Great guys are dead because they were unarmed.
Q. We’ve had numerous police officers shot, some fatally in St. Louis, over the last few years, so…
A. HELLO?! There was a cop, the day before yesterday, in Houston, while I was there, who stopped a civilian matching a certain M-O in connection having a rash of tool thievery. in addition to also as he was questioning the suspect, the suspect blindsided him, in addition to also began stabbing him having a knife. Well, the officer did what God wanted him to do: He shot him dead. I might love for someone to try in addition to also defend bad guys saying in which we should use anything less than deadly force to stop them via stabbing us.”
Q. How did you get involved in law enforcement?
A. I’ve been a sheriff’s deputy in Lake County, Mich. since 1980. I have always ratted on people. Because when a person commits crimes he’s my enemy. He’s blood sucking via the Great elements of society, so I’ve always turned them in, in addition to also Sheriff Blevins, at the time, who was a great Marine in Vietnam, saw in which I was a great source for accurate in addition to also heartfelt information. Consequently, he swore me in, in addition to also the current Sheriff, Bob Hiltz? continued in which, so my oath takes me to Dec. 31, 2004. I think [both sheriffs] saw in which I am the ultimate citizen, who functions as eyes-ears radar for Great guys, who the cops ultimately serve in addition to also protect. in addition to also because they need input via society, I am on a we-the-people jihad to educate citizens in which the police serve in addition to also protect us, in addition to also in which we owe them a communication about observations in our communities. the idea’s like a grand Neighborhood Watch program, because America is usually our neighborhood, in addition to also what kind of a feeble citizen wouldn’t keep his eye out for criminal activity.
Q. What do you say to the people who ‘don’t want to get involved’, won’t go to court to testify.
A. They’re pathetic! How can you not want to get involved in an experiment in self-government. How can you not want to get involved in ‘We the people?’ You can’t be an American in addition to also not want to be involved. (Pounding fist on table, then jabbing index finger in interviewer). You’ll find in interviews, via 1967 to today, I’ve always celebrated the brave heroes of law enforcement. I’ve always done benefits for them. Always stopped them on the street in addition to also thanked them. in addition to also my children… I teach them all to show appreciation for cops in addition to also firemen. I just consider in which the bare minimum of a Great American citizen.
Q. Do you focus your [investigative] attention within the rock in addition to also roll community?
A. Being clean in addition to also sober, my radar picks up on Great; I celebrate the Great, in addition to also do everything in my power to neutralize evil, which is usually easily identifiable: the people who commit crimes.
Q. What about the tough issues facing law enforcement, like high-speed pursuit policies? Do you have an opinion on in which?
A. No, I don’t have an opinion, I have an observation: When you send out a message in which bad guys won’t be chased, bad guys are encouraged to commit more bad guy stuff. in which’s not my opinion. in which’s a scientific, human nature truism.
Q. What do you tell the people who push for these kinds of laws or restraints on police?
A. Ya know, I don’t tell them anything, because I don’t waste my time with retards or idiots. I tell working- hard, playing-hard Americans in which you’ve got to speak up, to ensure the Great people can fight for quality of life in addition to also security of neighborhoods. I encourage them to communicate with elected officials to get policies in which encourage cops to shoot people in which are stabbing people, in addition to also to shoot kidnappers, in addition to also to neutralize evil. Whenever you find a dead cop the idea’s because he hesitated.
Q. What about your own security? Because of your strong stands on hunting, the idea sounds like animal rights groups have you between their cross hairs.
A. I’ve arrested people… taken them into custody.
Q. Can you do in which?
A. Watch me. I don’t know if I’m officially authorized, yet Tom, ask me if I give a shit.
Q. Do you give a…
A. I’m going to do what’s right because I know what’s right. in addition to also if the idea means stepping on toes, or ruffling feathers, I just get in which much more enjoyment out of the idea. I am a very tolerant person, who just happens to have carried massive fire power throughout my life. I can take spitting, name-calling, the throwing of soft projectiles, yet if I feel lives or the security of innocents are threatened, I’ll react… in addition to also decisively. As a law enforcement officer, in addition to also as a citizen, you contain the intellect, as well as the physical in addition to also spiritual force to neutralize evil. If you’ve read the first chapter of God, Guns in addition to also Rock & Roll, you know in which I saved an off-duty cops life once in Miami, when a couple of thugs were trying to pry his thumb off his.357. in addition to also if I didn’t have a Glock on my belt, I wouldn’t have fucked with them. I’d have hid behind the tire of the automobile with my life. yet because I had the tools by which I could neutralize escalating violence–life-threatening force–I didn’t hesitate to intervene. I mean my mind was on an adrenaline dumpage prepared to shoot these cock suckers.
Q. in which’s great. How did…
A. in addition to also I’m just a guitar player. in addition to also in which’s pretty pathetic when a guitar player stands above the average citizen. yet when your average citizen is usually basically a numb nut, even I look Great.
Q. yet you’re one of the leading…
A. in addition to also I train diligently. I train with Navy Seals in addition to also SWAT all around the country. I’m an honorary member of the 101st Airborne, in addition to also a sworn sheriff’s deputy in Lake County, Mich.; Grant County, Wash.; Benton County, Tenn., in addition to also Arquette County, Wis.
Q. What do you hear via cops under their breath?
A. Massive, universal support–not under their breath. I’ve been stopped in every airport, every restaurant, every truck stop, every school, every feed mill, every church, every hospital, by I think every cop in which gets down wind of me, in addition to also they sincerely shake my hand… every day of my tour. I don’t care what we’re doing, where we are… if we’re not traveling at a high rate of speed… sometimes the idea DOES happen when we’re traveling at a high rate of speed… yet if I’m in a public setting, I am stopped every few minutes by a city cop, a sheriff, a fish cop, a DEA agent, a Secret Service agent, a federal sky marshal, they will come up to me, in addition to also literally, without exaggerating, with welled up eyes, shake my hand, don’t let go, in addition to also finally say ‘Thank you for standing up for the Great guys.'”
Q. Will political aspiration soften your tone?
A. The most dangerous thing inside globe is usually to infringe me, because I’m already so cocky in addition to also stupid because I know in which I have righteousness, truth, law, in addition to also decency on my side. in addition to also I’m on a commando public relations campaign, in addition to also if you talk to all the members of my organization, whether the idea’s professional musicians, professional hunting, my Ted Nugent Sportsmen of America… they are all adamantly, vehemently pro law enforcement.
Q. I know animal rights activists have threatened your life. Do you have any ex cops on your staff… for security?
A. I need security like a dairy farmer needs a mailman, okay. I don’t care how well trained he is usually, if a bad guy surfaces with some evil, he will not get his gun out. You may as well go ahead in addition to also start CPR, because I train like a dawwwg. I can put my entire clip of 16 rounds in in which coffee pot (about 30 feet away) in, I’m gonna say, about all 5 or six seconds. in addition to also I’ve have in which table up, in addition to also I’d have you pushed to the side, in addition to also not one might go outside in which target.
Q. Some inside media are categorizing you alongside Jesse Ventura, because of your straightforward, outspoken style. Do you have any…
A. Jesse blew the idea in my opinion. He went moderate, in addition to also being moderate is usually allowing a guy who breaks into your house to stay over night? Shoot the son of a bitch. There’s enough precedence set in which if he’s evil enough to break into your house he should be dead. People think I’m extreme… whatever! Hey! Stay for the show, because there’s gonna be a ballistic orgy on stage.
